Date Night At Outing Lodge
We committed this year to work on dedicating more time to our relationship and this was our first "official" date of 2021!
I had never been to Outing Lodge before, but wow. It is truly a hidden gem in the St. Croix Valley. It was originally built as a farm in the 1800's to help people get back on their feet if they were struggling. Then it became an assisted living facility in the 1950's until 1977 when it was closed. It was then purchased and restored into it's current bed and breakfast and event center facility.
I absolutely love basically everything about this place. The hardwood. (I am a sucker for woodwork) The library. The gigantic floor to ceiling intricate mirrors. The property. I couldn't really believe I had never been there before having lived in the valley all my life.
Back to date night. We arrived and got checked in, then we were ushered to the bonfire to get our snowshoes on. The staff gave us a low down of where the trails were, how to get around, where we could go, and when to be back.
We hit the luminary lit trail for our 1/2 mile loop and the hit the lake and trekked out to the island. I have to say it was truly awesome. We couldn't have been blessed with better weather or snow conditions.
There were probably about 10-15 others during our time slot and we never felt crowded or rushed. It was a one hour outdoor experience and we honestly had a great time.
After our adventure we returned to the lodge for treats and cocoa to enjoy and warm up by the fire.
They have lots of upcoming events on their Facebook page, so be sure you check it out!
XO,
