What I Ate Week 1

This protocol isn’t easy and I am definitely bending a few of the rules to make it fit my lifestyle and it still isn’t easy.

I have completely eliminated grains and dairy. I MISS CHEESE SO MUCH! But I already feel a difference and I know as I continue on the journey it’ll get easier. I will post the recipes I use each week in hopes that you will find some inspiration and try something new!

Here’s what I ate Week 1-

Polynesian Chicken with pineapple, mushrooms, and onions

I bought a sugar free Polynesian sauce (link here) and I ate with my parents so we used the Blackstone to cook the veggies, chicken, and we added some shrimp. We grilled the pineapple separately and just added it after everything was cooked. We used maybe 6T of sauce for the entire meal. It was very very good.

Pesto Salmon and Broccolini

Nothing too fancy here (see my paper plates lol)

I used olive oil on the George Foreman grill and then put the salmon on. I topped it with Pesto sauce and closed it to finish cooking. Then I just steamed the broccolini with some minced onion and garlic.

Steak and Squash

We grilled steaks and did microwave squash from Trader Joe’s.

Hibachi Chicken with Zucchini and Mushrooms

This was supposed to be an airfryer meal, but I just did it in a pan on the stove and it was very good. I used coconut aminos in place of the soy sauce.

Shrimp Burgers with Coleslaw

I found these at Trader Joes and wanted to give them a try! The ingredients are shrimp and pollock which is great. No fillers. I topped with my own homemade coleslaw and a drizzle of that sugar free polynesian sauce.


The big challenge- going out to eat for date night.

I got the sesame shrimp tacos. I only ate the shrimp and the coleslaw/salsa that was in the tacos and made it more of a salad. I am really loving coleslaw blend right now. The crunch makes everything easier to eat. No margarita or mojito which was sad, but I was really proud of myself for finding something I could eat and not falling off the wagon!

Hydrate Juice- I am taking 1 shot a day in hopes that someday I will enjoy the taste. So far I am not to that point.
